“Every day, in every way, I am getting better and better.” Anindita closely relates to this on another level! This keto success story talks about Anindita, who started her keto journey with us about 3 months ago and lost 5 kgs in the 1st month. Anindita is a 28-year-old Consultant in an IT Company from Mumbai, Maharashtra. She leads a sedentary lifestyle due to which she hardly got any time for working out.
She used to have long working hours. She made little or no food on her own at home and used to go for office lunches and socialize during dinner, so, therefore, it wasn’t hard to see her getting used to accepting the added weight. We should not normalize gaining weight at these milestones of life. If ignored, it can lead to obesity, and worse, a way of life that is hard to lead.
In general, the population maintains sedentary lives and over-consumes calorie-dense foods. In particular, refined carbohydrates negatively impact metabolism and stimulate neural addiction mechanisms, which facilitate weight gain and obesity. There is abundant evidence that obesity increases the risk of elevated blood sugar. Similarly, there is ample evidence that weight loss mitigates those risk factors.
People need to be educated about the modern lifestyle factors that prevent effective weight management. Without this knowledge and the associated practical application of lifestyle choices that prevent weight gain, becoming overweight or obese appears to be an unavoidable consequence of living a modern lifestyle.
Apart from this, Anindita also has PCOS. Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a condition that affects a woman’s hormone levels. Women with PCOS produce higher-than-normal amounts of male hormones. This hormone imbalance causes them to skip menstrual periods and also causes hair growth on the face and body. It is the most common endocrine disorder affecting women of reproductive age and is associated with obesity, hyperinsulinemia, and insulin resistance.
The good news is, you can overcome both Obesity and PCOS with a healthy diet. And what would be better than a ketogenic diet? The Keto Diet not only can promote weight loss, but it is insulin-sensitizing as well. The researches suggest that insulin resistance and obesity are behind the pathophysiology of the cause of PCOS. Keto Diet also helps lowering down the androgen levels in the body and reducing Facial Hair and Breakouts on the skin as well.
The ketogenic diet is a high-fat, moderate-protein and a low-carbohydrate diet that involves reducing carbohydrate intake and replacing it with fat. This reduction in carbs puts your body into a metabolic state called ketosis. When this happens, your body becomes incredibly efficient at burning fat for energy. It also turns fat into ketones in the liver, which can supply energy for the brain.
