When she was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s, an autoimmune disease that affects the thyroid. She was not energetic at all and found it more and more difficult to maintain a healthy weight. After having to witness the incredible benefits of low-carb eating firsthand, Martina and her partner created KetoDiet, a tracking, and planning application with hundreds of low-carb recipes, which is now one of the bestselling apps on the App stores.
Then, in 2012, she launched the KetoDiet blog, which helps millions of people follow a whole-foods-based, low-carb, ketogenic lifestyle. Since 2016, she\’s authored 6 low-carb & keto books to help people follow a healthy diet and to show them that this way of eating doesn\’t have to be complicated or boring.
According to her, KetoDiet is not just about losing weight at any cost; it\’s about adopting a healthier lifestyle. Her mission is to help people reach their goals, whether it\’s someone\’s dream weight or simply eating healthy food.
Martina’s take on how to consume MCT oil on a keto diet
So it depends on what your goal is. If you want to lose weight, I would probably not recommend using any additional fats because you really want to be using your stored body fat, primarily. If you want to use it as an energy boost, you could put it in a shake or a cocktail and blend it. Then it\’s not going to be noticeable and it will perfectly blend with everything else.
And there\’s going to be no oily flavor or anything like that. You could use it to boost your ketone levels if you\’re using the ketogenic diet for therapeutic purposes. Because patients with epilepsy would have a diet that is we modify and has ABIC MCV, all that helps them get those extra ketones.
So yeah, I would say the best way to take it is in shakes and smoothies, probably. You could just take a spoon and just eat it as a base. But, it depends if you, if you can tolerate that.
