Ingredients required –
4 cups of water
1 cup of stone-ground grits
3 tablespoons butter
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 pound shrimp, peeled and devein
6 slices bacon, chopped
4 teaspoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
1 cup thinly sliced scallions
1 large clove garlic, minced
Salt and black pepper
Instructions :
Now bring 4 cups of water to boil. Add some salt and black pepper according to your taste. Add grits and cook until the water is absorbed, about 20 to 25 minutes. Remove from heat. Add butter and cheese as per your taste to it and stir well.
Wash shrimp and pat dry. Fry the bacon in a large skillet until browned. Drain well it well.
In grease, add shrimp. Cook until shrimp turns pink. Add lemon juice, chopped bacon, parsley, scallions and garlic. Sauté it for 3 minutes.
Now bring the grits into a serving bowl with the help of a spoon. Add shrimp mixture and mix it well. Serve hot immediately to your loved ones.
